Germany walks over Spain

The second day of the tournament starts with no more rain and higher temperatures. So the precondition for an exciting match was given.

An excellent second half by the German team

From the beginning the German under 16 team tried to pressurize the Spanish team. But the Spanish were able to come out again and again on there left defence without attacking the German circle. For the first time in this match the Germans started a promising attack in the 9th minute against the well organized Spanish defence - without success. In the 11th minute Moritz Polk scored for Germany with a flick over the goalkeeper after a good attack on the left side. Afterwards the Germans were to passive and the Spanish team was much more active with good chances. The Spanish won 6:0 penalty corners in the first half, were successfully with the tacklings in the midfield and had many good attacks. But Germany's good goalkeeper Philippe Gehringer saved all flicked balls of Josep Romeu at the penalty corners. Nevertheless after 33 minutes of play Germany with the next chance by Ricardo Nevado but his shot missed the goal.

After the interval and the new motivation by Uli Weise (head coach) the Germans started more agressively with self confidence and fine combinations. In the 38th minute Tobias Mantania scored for Germany with a tremendous hit from the left. Attack by attack rolled on to the Spanish circle initiated by Johannes Frank, Moritz Polk and Felix Meyer. In the 47th minute after Germany's first penalty corner Ricardo Nevado scored with his first goal. 2 minutes later Johannes Frank get an unfair attack by Josep Romeu on the top of the circle (yellow card). Matthias Knüpfer scored with a flicked ball after penalty corner. The Spanish team had no more chances and after a very good attack Felix Meyer scored in the 68th minute for Germany (5:0). One minute later Germany scored again by Fabian Elsholtz for Germany. In the last minute Bernardo Guerrero scored for Spain after a penalty corner. Because of the dominated second halftime Germany won the match deservedly.
