Spain wins the U18 final

Netherlands and Spain were the only teams, who haven't been defeated at the tournament. In the first meeting the result was 2-2 and none of them was favourite to win the match.
Thus at the beginning most of the match took place in midfield and neither team was able to achieve good chances.

After a while one got the impression the Spanish had a bit more ball possessions and game development was more constructive. Especially well playing forward Jorge Dabach made some good efforts on the right hand side. As the first half continued the Dutch team became more proactive and Johrus Gommers concludes a nice relay with Tommy Hofkamp to the 1-nil lead. After this goal the match dozed off a little, as none of the both had good chances.
The second half started with a fancy solo of eye-catching Valentin Verga who hit only the post of the Spanish goal. Spain did not manage to get out of her own half until they got a small series of penalty cornes after 42 minutes of play. The forth PC in minute 50 lead to the tie when Jorge Dabanch scored the rebound with an argentinian backhand. Again and again individual efforts of Jorge Dabanch, Javier Garcia and Roc Oliva disturbed the Netherlands' defence.

When Arol Artigas received a yellow card the Netherlands got back into the match. But they missed quite a lot of good chances. They faild either because of the Spanish keeper, the post or of own incapability. So it came like it often happens. Spain got one last chance and Marc Pujal scored after a wonderful solo which probably made the whole Dutch defence dizzy. After that the Netherlands had two more penalty corners but goolie Francesc Mata was fit again.
A bit surprising alltogether but not undeserved Spain wins this year's Easter Tournament final at Nuremberg.
