Spain reaches final with an excellent second halftime
The situation was clear: While England had to win the match to reach the final - a drawn would be enough for Spain.
In the beginning the match took place mainly close to the centerline - fighting for every yard of gain. As the match continued England got better into it and
slowly the team got chances. Joseph Finding used one of these efforts for a one-nil lead.
After 12 minutes he received the ball on the circle's left edge and scored with an argentinian backhand.
After the the goal Spain seemed to be quite impressed. Now England was in possession of the match.
Inevitably they had a lot of good chances. For instance Marc Edwards, when he missed the goal after a really fancy solo.
But after 20 minutes and another penalty corner Englang could score again.
A stick-foul by a Spanisch defender caused a penalty shot. Nick Catlin did't miss this one and brought a 2 goal lead for England.
Beyond of that, one of the best Spanish players received a yellow card because of grumbling.
England was now in complete control of the game. And again they missed a lot of good efforts - the best after a penalty corner when Josh Coote hit the post and the rebound
was cleared by the good Spanish keeper Fancesc Mata.

Javier Garcia short of his first goal
At the beginning second halftime England seemed to be in tomorrow's final. But the Spanish head coach had found the write words during the break.
The Spanish team began agressive and just after one minute they achieved a first penalty corner.
A pass back to the serving guy apperently surprised the English and Javier Garcia had no problem to place the ball in the open goal.
Spain pressure continued further and they achieved several penalty corners. After 47 minutes they choosed again a pass back to serving Javier Garcia who did it again.

Disappointed English goal keeper
Now England was out of the final. The Spanish now went back into their own third and started occasional counter attacks. But even with two more yellow cards they managed to
to defend their goal - although England had three more penalty corners.
Because of two completely different halftimes the final drawn meets the match's story, it was not enough for England.
Spain moves into the final on monday to meet the Netherlands.
